LEBUHRAYA DAMANSARA-PUCHONG (LDP) AUXILLIARY POLICE RECEIVED HIGHWAY HERO AWARD

Subang Jaya – In a Highway Industry Awards 2021 ceremony organized by the Malaysian Highway Authority yesterday, LDP Auxiliary Police Sergeant (AP) Nizam Mohd Salleh, 54, was recognized through the Highway Hero Award category for his dedication and courage in carrying out his responsibilities to protect the safety of highway users while on duty.

 

The Highway Hero Award is given specifically to recognize the services of individuals or agencies who have shown courage, dedication and efforts to protect lives, rescue victims involved in accidents and in other required situations.

 

The award was presented by Yang Berhomat Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, Senior Minister of Works, at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel. Sergeant (AP) Nizam Mohd Salleh was given the recognition based on his swift and courageous action in successfully detaining criminal at the Puchong Selatan Toll Plaza, LDP in December 2017 and in the following year, helping to detain aggressive driver who attacked a security guard at the Petaling Jaya Selatan Toll Plaza, LDP. He is also one of the recipients of the Inspector General Police Award in 2018.

 

Sergeant (AP) Nizam Mohd Salleh was a former COVID patient who suffered from complications of diabetes that caused his left leg to be amputated. He is still serving with LITRAK till present.

 

The first time held ceremony was aimed to give recognition and appreciation to the Malaysian highway industry key players, who are involved directly or indirectly. Among the seven other categories awarded were Highway Leadership Award, Highway Innovation and Safety Award, Green Highway Award, Best Highway Brand Communication Award, Best Information Management Award, Highway Dynamic Design Award, and Highway Construction Technology Innovation Award.

Reactivation of traffic channelization scheme and contra flow lane on LDP

Please be informed that our Traffic Channelization Scheme and Contra Flow Lane at several main locations along the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) are now fully operational, starting on 10th October 2021. The reactivation of the Traffic Channelization Scheme and Contra Flow Lane aims to ensure smooth traffic flow on LDP. Please refer to the following list for locations involved with the Traffic Channelization Scheme and Contra Flow Lane:

In a statement today, En Sazally Saidi, LITRAK Chief Executive Officer, informed that traffic situation at several main locations on LDP have significant increase in traffic volume, especially during the morning and evening peak hours. The significant trafic increase is anticipated following the Government’s announcement and to reopen most economic sectors in Malaysia, through its #ReopeningSafely campaign. LITRAK will give its full commitment to ensure smooth trafic flow through 2 series of improvement to its Congestion Mitigation Plan implemented since 2009. Previously, almost RM 1 billion had been spent for this purpose including the following enhancement works:~

1. Newly built interchanges;
2. Upgrading Works of existing Interchanges;
3. Mainline Widening Works;
4. Additional tol lanes at Toll Plaza; and
5. Full Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) implementation,

Re-Activation of Contra Flow Lane at km 21 ~ km 18, from Putrajaya/Puchong to Kelana Jaya, Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP)

Please be informed that the Contra Flow Traffic Scheme at KM 21 – KM 18, from Putrajaya / Puchong heading towards Kelana Jaya will be re-activated, starting 11th October 2021, Monday. The contra flow lane will be operating weekdays (Monday to Friday), from 6.30 am to 9.00 am.

The main objective of the scheme is to provide an alternative and bypass route for mainline North bound traffic (from Putrajaya / Puchong to Kelana Jaya) from congestion on the Federal Highway during the moming peak hours at the Petaling Jaya Toll Plaza, LDP.

Users are advised to ensure sufficient Touch ‘n Go card balance before using the Contra Flow lane.

This traffic scheme is only for class 1 vehicle, and Touch ‘n Go card users.

Urgent traffic diversion to facilitate Syabas burst pipe at KM20.1 on LDP

Kindly be informed that LITRAK will be implementing traffic diversion to facilitate urgent burst pipe repair works at KM 20.1 on LDP (Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil to Sunway / KESAS direction).

Works will be carried out tonight from 8.00 pm (21/6/2021) and expected to complete by 6.00 am, 23/6/2021. Highway users travelling from Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil are advised to adhere to the following temporary traffic diversions.

Location Traffic Vehicle Class Traffic Diversion
Puchong Jaya Interchange, Bandar Puchong Jaya Traffic from Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil to Sunway/KESAS Class 1,2, 4 and 5 Traffic coming from Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil to keep left towards Puchong Jaya signalized junction and then turn left towards IOI Mall. Subsequently, please make sure a U-turn at the IOI interchange towards Sunway/KESAS.
Class 3 (Heavy vehicles) For heavy vehicles, kindly make a U-turn at Taman Puchong Industri Interchange in front of Setia Walk towards Sunway/KESAS.

Temporary traffic management and signages pre-warning the highway users of the traffic diversion will be implemented during the lane closures. Highway users are advised to follow the signs posted for a smooth flow of traffic on LDP.

Pavement rehabilitation works at SS2 interchange on LDP
