Kuala Lumpur, 5 April 2024 – Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad (ALR) has contributed three (3) units of patrol vehicles to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to enhance the level of traffic monitoring and improve the safety of road users on all four of its highways in the Klang Valley. The handover ceremony of these vehicles to the Honorable Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Razaruddin Bin Husain, Inspector General of Police was delivered by Encik Sazally bin Saidi, ALR Group Chief Executive Officer, at the Bukit Aman Police Headquarters.
These new patrol vehicles will help the Expressway Mobile Police Vehicle (EMPV) Unit under the supervision of the Department of Investigation and Enforcement (JSPT), to conduct patrols more efficiently on the highway, thereby ensuring a safer and more comfortable travel experience for road users.
En. Sazally bin Saidi, in a statement to the media, shared that PDRM’s EMPV Unit currently manages approximately 1 million in tolled traffic and 3.5 million in non-tolled traffic across the SPRINT, Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong and KESAS highways. As such, close collaboration between the Group and PDRM is crucial to ensure the safety and comfort of ALR’s highway users.
He further added that the contribution of the patrol vehicles is in line with the Group’s continuous support for PDRM’s road safety initiatives, and in recognition of the long-standing partnership between the two parties. Between 1996 and 2024, a total of 40 vehicles with a cumulative value of RM3.12 million, have been contributed by the highways under ALR’s care, to PDRM.
En. Sazally concluded by expressing the Group’s sincere appreciation for PDRM’s support throughout the years, and reaffirmed ALR’s commitment to providing a safe and pleasant motoring experience together with PDRM.
