LDP has spurred development growth and contributed significantly to economic growth. Since the opening of LDP in January 1999, new developments have emerged rapidly.
Since the opening of LDP, 66 new developments with 47 million sq ft of commercial spaces and some 85,000 units of new residential properties have been built around LDP and these numbers continue to grow rapidly. Providing conveniences of accessibilities, traffic volume plying on LDP has grown tremendously, especially at its non-tolled sections. Currently, about one (1) million vehicle trips a day ply the non-tolled section on LDP within Petaling Jaya areas whereas 400,000 ply the non-tolled section in Puchong areas.
