LITRAK Group takes the opportunity to perform its Corporate Responsibility (CR) during each festive season to show their commitments towards the community especially for the underprivileged youngsters.
The first event for the day was the presentation of Merdeka Trivia flyers, launching of DeCARE Challenge in conjunction with LITRAK Group Road Safety Campaign and presentation of ‘Duit Raya’ to the children of Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih which was officiated by Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority Dato’ Ir Hj Ismail Md Salleh at the event.
‘Merdeka Trivia’ portrays the important role played by Tunku Abdul Rahman as the independence fighter. A total number of 30,000 flyers will be distributed to approximately 30 schools along the alignment of Lebuhraya-Damansara Puchong and SPRINT Highway. This segment is specifically designed in remembrance of the 55th National Day for this year.
The second part of the programme was the launching of ‘DeCARE Challenge’ in conjunction with LITRAK Group Road Safety Campaign. For information, LITRAK Group organized a Road Safety Programme for some 200 students from 5 different schools to attend two programmes named ‘Xplorasi DeCARE’ and ‘Smart DeCARE’ at DeCARE Park, Presint 7, Putrajaya which was held since last year. This program is in collaboration with Perbadanan Putrajaya where SK Sri Hartamas, SK Bukit Lanjan, SK Bandar Sri Damansara (1), SK Bukit Damansara and SK Sg Penchala will now need to participate in a competition that will be held soon.
The final segment of the event was the presentation of ‘duit raya’ to 55 children from a charity home, Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih in Kg Sg Penchala where they received ‘duit raya’. A week before, they were brought to Jusco One Utama to buy new clothes (baju raya) with an allocation of RM150 per person.
LITRAK Group Executive Director, Tn Ir. Hj Yusoff in his speech said the charity component of the event is undertaken in collaboration with LITRAK sports club. “We are committed to continue this tradition as it gives the chance to strengthen the ties with the community. All groups of people, regardless their age, race and religion deserve to feel the happiness”, he said.
